Vandaag hebben FNV Bondgenoten, CNV Dienstenbond, De Unie en Qlix IT een ultimatum gesteld aan IT-dienstverlener Atos Origin. Aanleiding is het cao-conflict over onder andere de structurele loonsverhoging. Vakbonden eisen 3,5% terwijl de werkgever vasthoudt aan zijn bod van 2%. Als Atos Origin niet voor dinsdag 25 maart 18.00 uur akkoord gaat met de eisen van de vakbonden, dan volgen er acties.

Het onderhandelingsresultaat dat medio november 2007 werd bereikt, werd door de meerderheid van vakbondsleden en de achterban van de centrale ondernemingsraad (COR) afgewezen. Hierna hebben de vakbonden diverse pogingen en voorstellen gedaan om de onderhandelingen te heropenen. Elke handreiking werd echter door de werkgever resoluut van de hand gewezen.

Volgens de vakbonden is het onbegrijpelijk dat Atos Origin volhardt in zijn starre houding. De bedrijfsresultaten zijn goed en de werkgever zou er goed aan doen om te investeren in de werknemers. Het binden van werknemers is binnen de IT-sector relatief moeizamer dan in andere sectoren. Een loonsverhoging van 2% draagt er volgens de vakbonden niet toe bij dat werknemers bij Atos Origin willen (blijven) werken.

Boete voor overheid die te laat beslist

DEN HAAG – Overheidsorganen die te laat reageren op een verzoek van een burger, moeten vanaf uiterlijk 2010 een boete betalen. Als de wettelijke beslistermijn is overschreden, kan betrokkene de overheid in gebreke stellen.

Atos Origin heeft haar ware gezicht opnieuw laten zien, en hebben weer gekozen om de medewerkers opnieuw met een kluitje in het riet te sturen, gelukkig zijn veel goede medewerkers inmiddels al opgestapt (ik kan gerust stellen dat in de kringen waar ik me begaf dit zeker 1:10 was). En er zullen er vast meer komen, maakt Atos Origin dat wat uit, nee natuurlijk niet, zolang de klanten blijven komen zal het ze een worst wezen, je trekt gewoon nog een paar apen van straat leert ze een truukje en iedereen is blij toch ?? Ik denk persoonlijk van niet, veel kennis gaat op deze manier verloren en hoe kun je je klant van dienst zijn zonder kennis ? even blijven drijven lukt wel, maar een schip wat water maakt gaat steeds sneller ten onder.

Wat is er nu gebeurd;

Begin februari werd hetzelfde voorstel al afgewezen door de bonden en de centrale ondernemingsraad (COR). Het voorstel was voor meer dan tachtig procent van de vakbondsleden onacceptabel. Atos Origin maakte gisteren bekend vast te houden aan hun plan en niet meer te onderhandelen met de bonden.

Het is hun goed recht natuurlijk om niet meer te onderhandelen met de bonden, maar dat is het zelfde als je medewerkers simpelweg vertellen dat ze het niet waard zijn.

Ik raad dan ook alle medewerkers van Atos Origin aan om zich zo snel mogelijk bij een bond in te schrijven, samen staan jullie sterk. De heren daar boven denken alleen aan hun eigen bonus die ze nog snel willen binnen slepen voordat de hedgefunds de boel verkopen aan een ander. En daar gaat om, niet om jullie kwaliteiten als medewerker, maar om de centen die ze aan jullie verdienen.

Update: met nog grotere onzin komt een HRM manager naar boven, eigenlijk om te lachen dat de concurentie positie van AO afhangt van deze paar procentjes zoals hij het zelf zegt, klanten opgelet, AO verliest dus hun concurentie postie al als een-derde van de personeels leden (Diegene die notabene het geld binnnen halen!) zo’n 1% tot 1,5% meer zouden krijgen. Raar toch, maar het zijn niet mijn woorden, maar die van mijnheer Blom van Atos Origin van HRM (Hele Rare Mensen)

Human Resource manager Hans Blom van Atos zegt het jammer te vinden dat het bod is afgewezen. Volgens hem blijft er door de eis van de bonden onvoldoende ruimte over om te differentiëren als de minimale loonsverhoging naar 3,5 procent verschuift. Hij wijst erop dat tweederde van werknemers bij de huidige regeling een verhoging van 3,5 procent of hoger krijgt. Eenderde valt in de groep van 2 tot 3,5 procent.

Volgens Blom zijn er genoeg concessies gedaan in de cao-onderhandlingen. “Het is niet alleen een kwestie van geven maar ook van nemen”, aldus Blom. Atos wil de werknemers nog een keer haar standpunt duidelijk gaan maken. Praten met de bonden zit er niet in. Dan kan er volgens Blom te weinig loondifferentiatie plaatsvinden waardoor uiteindelijk de concurrentiepositie van Atos in het geding komt.

My parents are enjoying their holidays in Malaysia, well, till they came back to the same hotel for 3rd visit this year (and after a few other visits the past years). All to the same hotel, but now a clerk behind the counter thought it was nice to charge RM5000 for a 5 day stay at the Radius hotel, while this might not sound a lot, you should know this is normally only RM210 a night per room per day. Okay they have an extra bed RM57, second room and a RM25 booking fee but that does not make it RM 5000. After some calls and questions where we where spoken to VERY rude by the clerk, he told us it was just a check if there was enough credit and that the prices where correct and this would be charged at the end of their stay.

Now i can understand they want to be sure the customers have the money to stay in the room, our internet bookings for the same hotel did essentially the same but just for the amount we would have to pay at the end of our stay, not about the the double amount.

We where having our suspicion already when booking, the internet site stopped working for bookings after 31-1-2008 and the reachability of the hotel by phone was a complete nightmare.

To make a long story short; avoid the Radius International Hotel in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia as the plague from now on, we where planning for a trip end of April, but we at least know which hotel will not be in our list anymore.

Update: after the payment after the last day VISA called Radius hotel at once the payment was made and ask them how they could have charged such a high amount beforehand and only ask payment for less as the half of it; they got an official warning from VISA that this was not allowed. In the meantime Radius hotel (personal or friends) is trying to write a nice review at this website; for obvious reasons we do NOT publish these cheap commercials here and only tell our story as it happend. While the post did confirm there is a change in management it is certainly not for the good. We did stay from overseas at Radius at different occasions for multiple times and always have been happy with their service till this year!

In short:

- Reachability ; try to call them for information  1 point out of 10
- Website emails ; try to mail them for information 1 point out of 10
- Try booking a hotel room online; 2 bookings did go well ; 1 booking didnt go trough; in all cases a 3rd bed was calculated EXTRA while the website clearly stated a 3persons bedroom while ordering ; thus 2 out of 10 points here.
- Charging the VISA ;  dared to process RM 5000 for a 3 day stay for security purposes on a VISA gold card. 1 out of 10.
- Friendly personnel ; at the desk 1 out of 10, many fights with customers are made by the person behind the desk; hello those customers pay your salary !! other personnel seems to be professional and kind 9 out of 10. Management was not to be seen or did not want to attend angry clients. Apparently there is no higher management after 21:30 (even while they still walk around the front desk is telling they are not around).

My advise; stay away from this hotel till they learn how to threat customers and value their stay.

Het financieel dagblad bericht vandaag dat Hedgefonds Centaurus wil dat Atos Origin zijn zelfstandigheid opgeeft. Grappig dat een Hedgefonds spreekt van zelfstandigheid terwijl ieder beurs genoteerd bedrijf al helemaal geen zelfstandigheid meer heeft. Vooral niet als er Hedgefonds bedrijven zoals Centaurus zich er al ingekocht hebben.

‘Atos is een mooi bedrijf, met getalenteerde mensen en een goede clientèle, maar strategisch is het kansloos,’ aldus Oppetit. ‘Het bedrijf is te klein om een generalist te zijn, terwijl het niet gespecialiseerd genoeg is om in nichemarkten een positie te verwerven. Daarom denken we dat de strategie opnieuw tegen het licht gehouden moet worden.’

Wel jammer dat er veel clientele en getalenteerde mensen hard wegelopen door het huidige beleid binnen Atos Origin en op CAO niveau wordt het bedrijf door de FNV ook al niet meer serieus genomen. Erg jammer, want het was best een mooi bedrijf toen het nog Origin was, helaas is dit door de fransen aardig kapot gemaakt, of is dit nu de schuld van het Hedgefonds ?

Today we received a letter from ABN-AMRO (yes they still use the name). Telling us that since we as customer can use internet-banking we will NOT receive a monthly statement anymore as by 2008. If you still want to receive the monthly statements, you MUST fill in a forum, get two people to sign AND send it back to them.

YES ABN-AMRO THIS IS THE WAY TO THANK LOYAL CUSTOMERS!!! ****NOT****

I do not know which COW Monkey (see previous post) did draw this idea up, but it would be way more customer friendly to give the customer the choice not to change anything and therefor NOT need to interact. Instead we must take action otherwise ABN-AMRO just changes the service levels on you.

I wonder what ABN-AMRO would do if their IT provider would do the same thing ? If you do not fill in this form, get it signed by your CEO’s (before years end) we do not need to deliver you any uptime guarantee anymore.

I do not believe they would be so happy.

The soap around the Korean hostages which where freed this week gets more and more interesting, it seems that Korea does pay terrorist to buy more weapons. Keeping a close eye on the developments but now the Taliban did announce that Korea is indeed paying 20 mil. dollar it seems they give in to terrorism.

Do I like those Korean hostages to be killed then ? no of course not, but they started a very risky journey and knew the dangers (you won’t be popular as a religious group which is despised by the Taliban) now these few Koreans will be responsible for a whole lot more people being killed because one thing is sure, the Taliban will not use these 20 million to buy food for their people, instead they will invest in weapons to kill innocent civilians and other military forces around them.

If this story is true, Korea funds a war against all the countries having a presence in Afghanistan. How is this possible?!?!

There is of course still the possibility that the Taliban lies about the money transfer, will update this article when new information comes around.
