No, i am not talking about toiletpaper here, i am talking about a piece of software which cleans your pc, removes applications, even if the deinstaller doesnt work correctly. And the best thing, and thats not crap, it is free !

In my might against some forum spammers i was looking for a tool which could help me better as the standard phpmyadmin tool for my mySQL database, I found a sollution in the following (free)-tool ‘SQLyog’:

Think about this for a while; you bought one of the most expensive word-processors on the market, someone finds a flaw, and the company who sold you the software says; just dont open any documents you get send to you from someone you do not know. Sometimes i am in need to check a servers connection from multiple places in the world, just to see if its only my connection or that more people have the same issue. Now i know ping is not the most reliable way to check conectivity, but it will do in this case. Trough the following website you can check your server from 20 different geographical locations.

Once in a while you browse the net and walk into a good source of freeware applications, I know there are many systems, and back in the early days I liked to use tucows, but somehow that became a beast to use. Nowadays i like to use http://www.snapfiles.com especially the clear distinction between freeware and shareware is a welcomed feature.

Did read about a new program to stop spam on your POP3 accounts, well, not really stop it, but mark it for you so you can do anything you want with it, i.e. move it to a spam folder with a rule, to just remove the darn messages, it even got the posibility to tell in which languages you want to receive messages, so that all others will be suspecious. Sad it doesnt work with IMAP, only POP3.

SA Proxy (Spam Assassin Proxy) is based on the Open Source software Spam Assassin. It runs as a local proxy server that sits between your email program and your POP3 mail account.

All you need to do is start SAProxy and configure your email program to connect to it instead of the normal incoming mail server (documentation shows how to do it). The next time you check your email, all spam messages will be tagged with ****SPAM**** in the subject line, allowing you to easily recognize them, or to create a rule in your email program that will move those tagged messages into a separate folder.

Spam Assassin uses Bayesian filtering which is highly accurate and can learn from new spam as it is detected. The program does not delete any spam, but only marks it, leaving it up to you what to do with it.

In my search for free photo’s to use on my websites either personal or for business purpose, i look for cheap, if possible, even free photo’s. Sometimes i need to shoot them myself, but often you can find some good pictures at Yotophoto.

One website to remember is 1001freefonts.com, when searching for some fonts i stumbled accross this website between the hundreds of other websites which say they offer free fonts but actualy are not offering such a thing, or very limited. 1001 free fonts is exactly what it says it got, over a thousand free fonts for you to use. Not a new website, but worth sharing with you all.

This week a new company popped up in my search for cheap calling, from our house we often call outside the netherlands, to countries like Ireland, France, Germany, Malaysia and more. Sometimes we would like to be able to call cheap from another destination as our home, and be able to call with our mobile phones. We found some cheap sollutions from the netherlands, but there is a new company, which makes it possible for us to dail a local number with our mobiles and call abroad. Sadly Malaysia is not yet included in their list of companies, but for the other 3 it is an option.

If you are still reading you must be curious, the company is called Rebtel, the principle is easy, you call a local number it will then connect you to your friend, they will receive a sms with a local number, they hang up, while you wait, they dail the local number they received per text-message (sms), and will be connected to your phone.
